Bagni Māsino's thermal water
The water springs out of the Alps at a temperature of 38 degrees with a mineralisation of around 500 mg/l. The chemical composition has a prevalence of
sodium, calcium and silica sulphates, which make up for about 70% of the global mineral substances. The analysis carried out by Pavia University's Department
for General Chemistry has measured the presence of 1,730 pc/l radioactivity. Prof. Messini, in his clynical hydroclimatology treaty Acque minerali nel mondo (Mineral
waters in the world) - Vol. 2, page 2057 - writes that on the basis of his analyses Bagni Māsino's water is medio minerale, solfata, alcalina (middle mineral,
sulphated, alkaline). The Italian Ministry of Health has defined it as acqua termale leggermente mineralizzata, solfatata, fluorurata, alcalina (slightly
mineralised thermal water, sulphated, fluorinated, alkaline). It is particularly helpful to cure skin diseases and those of the digestive tract, of the female
genital systems and of the upper respiratory organs.
